Wayne Woodward, Ph.D
Author
Wayne Woodward is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Statistical Science at Southern Methodist University and served as department chair for 16 years. He is a Fellow of the American Statistical Association (ASA), an elected member of the International Statistical Institute, and a recipient of ASA’s Don Owen Award. Dr. Woodward has been recognized as an SMU Altshuler University Distinguished Teaching Professor, and in 2006 he was named the United Methodist Church Scholar/Teacher of the Year at SMU. Dr. Woodward directed or co-directed 21 Ph.D. students and has published over 75 research articles and four previous books, one of which is on the topic of time series analysis.

Bivin P. Sadler, Ph.D
Author
Bivin Sadler has over 20 years of experience in teaching mathematics and statistics at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Dr. Sadler began teaching in the newly formed Master of Science in Data Science (MSDS) program at Southern Methodist University in 2014. He was promoted to be the Lead Faculty of this program in 2018 and has since created several courses in the curriculum including co-creating the Time Series course, along with Dr. Woodward, in which much of the pedagogy of this book was polished. Bivin serves on SMU’s Big Data Advisory Board, regularly presents at local, state and national venues, and in 2022 he received the “M” Award and the Rotunda Scholar’s Teaching and Service Award, both of which are highly regarded awards at SMU.

Stephen D. Robertson, Ph.D
Author
Stephen Robertson is a Senior Lecturer and the Director of Southern Methodist University’s Master’s in Applied Statistics and Data Analytics (MASDA) program. Prior to his employment at SMU, Dr. Robertson spent 12 years working in government and industry. Through the frequent teaching of many undergraduate and graduate courses including master’s level time series analysis at SMU, he has extensive experience in the classroom. He is the recipient of a number of teaching awards at SMU, including the prestigious Provost’s Teaching Award in February 2020. Dr. Robertson is an innovative teacher who seeks creative and accessible teaching methods to explain time series topics in an applied setting.
